Details

The Solnhofen Fossil Days is a well-established trade fair dedicated to fossils and minerals, held annually in August in Solnhofen since 2001. The event takes place at the Bürgermeister-Müller-Museum, whose unique historical setting provides the perfect backdrop for showcasing one-of-a-kind exhibits.
Exhibitors from the fields of paleontology, mineralogy, geology, and jewelry present a diverse selection of fossils, minerals, and collectibles. Visitors can expect a wide range of offerings—from rare finds and expert advice to the identification and purchase of specimens. The event caters to experts, collectors, families, and school groups.
A special highlight is Solnhofen’s close connection to fossil research: the famous Solnhofen limestone slabs have yielded significant finds worldwide, including the Archaeopteryx. The fair is complemented by a supporting program that includes a raffle and other entertainment.
