About
Since 1994 agate collectors have met at the Hormersdorf youth hostel – according to the organisers the world's first show devoted purely to agates. Only quartz minerals are admitted: agates, amethyst, jasper and petrified wood, no set jewellery; the show is privately run and non-commercial, dealers only by exception. Talks are held the evening before, and children can join a gemstone rally.
