About
The Palomar Gem and Mineral Club honours San Diego County's mining history with its annual gem, mineral and jewellery show at the California Center for the Arts in old town Escondido, next to Grape Day Park: mineral specimens, cut gems, gem rough, fossils and jewellery. Demonstrators show the lapidary arts – faceting, silversmithing and more – and gem identification tells you what stone is in the ring your grandmother gave you.
Parking: free, 900 spaces.
Admission: $5.
