48th International Osnabrück Mineral and Fossil Fair

Information

Details

Approximately 50 exhibitors offer a wonderful selection of recent national and international finds of sparkling minerals and fossils, ranging from mammoth bones to popular quartz specimens. Accessories for collectors and enthusiasts, such as specialized literature and tools, are also available.
Visitors can have minerals or fossils they’ve found themselves identified at the information booth. It is staffed on a volunteer basis by members of the VFMG (Association of Friends of Mineralogy and Geology, Osnabrück District Group) and the Geology Working Group of the NVO (Osnabrück Natural Science Association, Geology Working Group).
A small special exhibition will also be on display at the fair. The exhibition's theme will be determined later this year.

The event also caters to younger visitors. In a children's scavenger hunt, participants must find the “Christmas stars”—those who solve the puzzle correctly can win beautiful minerals and fossils.
