Malachite

6.03.51.8 cm
Tsumeb Mine (Ongopolo Mine), Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia
300.00 $

This is an outstanding malachite pseudomorph after azurite specimen from the renowned Tsumeb Mine in Namibia. The piece showcases vibrant green malachite crystals that have replaced the original azurite, preserving its original sharp. The main crystal meassures 4.5 cm, with well-defined faces and a unique blend of smooth and fibrous surfaces, characteristic of Tsumeb malachites. Unfortunatelly the main crystal has no termination. But still this rare pseudomorph captures both the beauty and geological history of one of the world’s most famous mines, making it a prized addition for any collector focused on classic or African mineral specimens.
