Russia's classic specimens come from the Urals and the Far East. The Urals gave the old collections their topaz, amethyst and crocoite. Dalnegorsk in Primorye is known for datolite, calcite and ilvaite from its skarns, the Kola Peninsula for the minerals of its alkaline massifs.
