Origin
Romania
The ore veins of Maramureș in northern Romania were worked for centuries, and many 19th-century collections hold pieces from Baia Sprie, Herja and Cavnic. Stibnite, baryte, sphalerite and rhodochrosite came from these mines until most of them closed in the 2000s.
